And here I was thinking (briefly) that "diaper insecure" was in reference to all the whining, crying, sniveling, hand wringing, entitled portion of the population that needs to be continuously coddled and handled with baby gloves.
Funny, 19 years ago, we did the cloth diaper thing. Used the disposables when they were needed....traveling I think....but those things saved us a mint. For what....3 years maybe. 'Course feeding from the tap made a difference....put solid food off a spell. Cleaning never really got that nasty. Maybe it was a little inconvenient, but no more than splitting wood, making your own bread, fixin the house..... Sca
We did the same thing Sirchopsalot with our two boys. Cloth diapers were used when we were home and disposable ones when we were on vacation.
I had some woman pull in my driveway and 350 feet right to my house to change a chitty diaper once. Now I have a kid, I understand azzplosions, but really. I was a little pizzed about that one and she knew it. There is a old road directly across from my driveway that is gated off but plenty of room to pull in there and do what you got to do.
This thread title should be edited to say “wtf is [gonna be posted] next?” But then again, that’s just about any thread on FHC…
Interesting, I did not know they were available in the 70's. And babysitting in the 80's were mostly cloth too.
I remember shaking our heads when we learned people were spending dollars weekly for diapers. We had 2 boys back in the 60's and I don't think we spent a dime on buying because Judy received so many diapers at a baby shower. Cleaning was just something that you had to do...but fortunately Judy took care of that part.
Cloth type was all my mom ever had for us...and I'm an early 70's model...darn near 60's Or did you mean disposable in the 7o's?
Yes, my parents used cloth diapers, as a helper that changed diapers as a kid they were all cloth, and even when babysitting in other houses in the early 80's they were all cloth too. No disposables.
Our boys were born back in the 70's, one in 70 and the other in 73. Diapers weren't needed after 75. I think Pampers were around back then.
