Just saw the ad for my local pellet source. $25 off each ton next week. That should put me right around $175/ton. The ad says "brand may vary per location", but they have Pro Pellets in stock.

    Time to hog up.

I'm not familiar with the pellets but at that price I'd be hogging up too! $239 here for a middle of the road pellet.

I have around 4 1/2 ton going in.. Should use no more than 2 ton because of the wood stove. Here's a pic of a haul I snapped but forgot to post:

Picked up two tons so far. I was off on my pricing. Regular price is 214.50/ton but after discount it was 189.50/ton which is the same price I paid last season.

I'm glad I only have to go just under three miles to get home. A full ton makes the truck a bit squirrely. Still beats hauling a half ton at a time like I did every other season. One of these days I need to pick up a trailer.

Yes sir. That was all they had in full tons. They have Michigan pellets inside if you want to buy by the bag.

Not sure if you have a Family Farm and Home near you, but the sale runs through next Friday.

At TSC they would only give the Pro-Pellets to people that requested them. Otherwise they gave you the Michigan ones. When they paged the guy over the intercom they weren't even supposed to say Pro-Pellets! I got two tons and they had about 7 left in Hastings.

Keep buying more, predicted weather for your area for sept & oct is supposed to be colder than normal!Just a few words of advice, can see you never hauled a camper.Draw a line through center of pellets.Figure another line through centerline of rear axle. The center of the weight (pellets) should be centered with axle line,or 4-6 inches ahead.Truck will drive much better and safer.I take tailgate off and have them slid right against cab,as I use a shortbed.

I didn't think of taking the tailgate off. They were as far forward as they could get them with their forklift. This is my first full size truck. Not having to handle the bags twice is much nicer.

I did take my hard folding bed cover off. Didn't want it getting destroyed by an errant forklift driver. I was partially thinking this morning. :)

Actually a good forklift operator could take an empty and push them forward with gate on,but easier to drop off gate. You will prop see a diagram of where to put the weight in owners manual.(oh oh,get the popcorn!):D

Owners manual? We don't need no stinking owners manual. :)

I knew I was exceeding max payload by a few hundred pounds at least. My trip home was a straight shot of just under 3 miles. Even with the load placed where it was, this truck handled better than my old S-10 did with half a ton in the bed. Definitely wouldn't want to go much farther with that weight in a half ton with stock suspension.

I've been keeping my eye out for a utility trailer of some type. I'd much prefer towing a trailer with a ton or two on it as opposed to hauling a ton in the bed of the truck. Easier to unload once home and a safer load to haul.
