This topic along with other insect pests has been on the forums before, but this year it seems to be a invasion in our area. They are everywhere! I have talked to others in our state far away from Oakland County here in Michigan and they all have them. Local prediction is that they will get worse next year. So what to do? I spray with vinegar, dish soap and water. It does kill them, but the next day they come back. They get into the house thru the smallest crack and are a genuine pia! Any thoughts out there?

    I give a squirt of citrus cleaner/degreaser.
    Works on ants too.
I haven't had any in the house yet this year. I squirt the ones on the window and door screens. Which they seem to like for whatever reason.

We have tons here too. And just out of Harrisburg, where I work, we've got lots of the mature lantern flys.

I'm in the ground zero region for stink bugs...been dealing with them for years. I spray Martin's Viper Insecticide around my door and windows.

Stink Bugs thrive here in East Texas, they are present every year and reap havoc on tomatoes! :hair:

We have stinky black beetles here, ugg, lots of them. And the FREAK me out because I used to get frequent migraines and I would get the same bad metallic smell before they got painful. I bug bomb the cement bunker our cistern pump is in and also leads to under much of the space between the ground our floor joists. When I see them in the house I use a tissue to gently pick them up and I flush them down the toilet. Also, we had the flat stink bugs you showed a few times over a couple decades at our previous home, and yes, they even somehow squeezed through our case windows. I did the same drill with them.

SLF's just made their way here to the NJ shore. I've seen 2 so far. Last year I made a trip back to PA and we stopped at one of the parks we used to go to and they were all over the place. We must of just missed the infestation of our area of PA. 5 years after moving they found us lol.

I had the recent unpleasant experience of drinking a stinkbug :jaw:
It was in my coffe mug and I didn't know it till I felt the wiggle on my tongue.
I spit it all over the computer screen and let me tell you, that nasty stink bug flavor lasted a long time.

We've always kind of had them in the area, but I did notice this year while cleaning out the stove/liner on Saturday there were about a dozen inside the stove around the door gasket. 1st time I saw them in the stove like that. Seems that it's pretty common this time of year with cooler nights they go down chimneys looking for heat. We also had one in the bedroom about a week ago and I've seen a few more than usual outback.
