    Looks like American Elm to me. The bark varies a bit depending on location.

    I’ve got a 30” American Elm in the backyard that finally succumbed to Dutch elm disease and will become cookies for next year’s gtg. Possibly the following. Might process the top after a couple years I guess.

    This Forester says elm. And I would say American Elm to pin down a particular one.
