Tree ID from a leaf

Tree service guy I haven’t delt with in over a year called twice this week. One load of white oak and a load of the pictured leaf.
Mulberry, basswood or?

Not basswood for sure, the leaves are much bigger and heart shaped. I also have some mulberry and the leaves look a little close to that but I'm thinking probably not.

 

I think it could be mulberry.

Split a small piece, pretty sure the mulberry crowd wins.

 

Yep. Leave that sit in the sun and it'll turn red/brown. Excellent firewood.

 

You forgot the purple flame it throws.

I saw it and thought mulberry. Reading though the posts seems I was thinking what others did as well. At least after all these years I still can ID something besides a few species of pine trees that we mostly cut.
