-4c/28f and frosty out. No fire for us today. Were getting ready to go for a thanksgiving camping trip with friends later today. I may have to pop home to do a bit of work and pick up our son after school tomorrow. Looks like the good weather of sun and above freezing daytime temps will continue! We will likely go find a few standing dead doug fir trees to drop to keep the fire pits blazing!
Cold Trigger Finger that seems mild for what youve been posting lately. Drive safe!

It hasn't cooled off yet here in Saskatchewan. 86°F / 30°C yesterday and a new record high at the nearest gov't weather station. Indian Head, Sask, Records start in 1889. We'll really get it one of these days.

This is the truck I drive at work.
A nice shiny 2021 Mack . I started driving it when it had 1700 miles on it.
Today I was on chains for 6 or 7 hours.
I don't fool around with pushing the envelope on traction. If I'm not comfortable, I throw steel.
Not risking wrinkling a quarter million dollar truck.
Plus, who wants to look like the imbecile that went off the road . Blocked traffic, and got a sits mark named after them !

Yup, jingle jangle time in the bush. There was nothing like the first steel belted radials and tire chains for finding every rattle your truck would every have.

    Nice unit.

When I started for this company in 19 . The routes were probably 40 miles a day for 3 days a week. Now they go from 50 miles to 180 miles a day 4 and 5 days a week. The business has pretty much quadrupled in 2 years.
The corporation that owns the LLC that I work for now . Also does home heating oil. They have a full&clean program where the customers heating oil tank get topped off and a 2 yard dumpster get tipped once a month.
That is a very popular service with the base people . Many of whom are military or prior military so they also get a veterans discount.
Even so the outfit does very well. And the customers really like it.
Many of whom are techs they kinda have their existence Inside the virtual world. At least that is what it seems like to me. But then I might be a timber beast.
Anyway. They are the kind of people that send an email instead of make a voice phone call.
Then there are businesses and farms and just regular people that have our services.
Plus we have all of the local gold mine's trash contracts . And that is the primary customer of the freight side of the corporation.
If it comes into Valdez on a barge we truck it to the mine. Close to 25 loads a week. And we pull from the coast and stage/ transfer then haul in.
The local trash side is just more diversity for the business. People don't want to take the time to drive to the landfill.

I was going to wait until cooler temps before I ventured into the tree stand, by the way things look, that might not be until mid nov.
    So off I go

Supposed to almost 80 here tomorrow, ugh! No cool weather in sight yet. I don't really care for this this late in the year.
