I think pallets on top would be too heavy. Use them for another rack. Just run a few boards across the top.
Yeah, not building a skyscraper here. I meant that there will be a duplicate rack on the other side of the door, with boards tying them together across the top.
This is what Chaz has brought in for more drying time. It will be burned this year. This was split last summer. Next up will be some rounds from last year. The one with thechair is front porch.
Like the rack Chaz made in the barn.. The wood looks like it will burn good. Nice pile on the porch also.
Tell Chaz I screwed a couple scrap pieces plywood to windows on our wood deck. To prevent an oops when loading wood deck.. window lead times are months
Yep, it's OSB, but there is a board protecting that window. Think we had that installed about 3 or 4 years now. The old window was steel cased, but one end was at the meeting point of 2 blocks. Well, the window couldn't be closed because the frame got bent out of shape. I made a storm window that we used for many winters.
I have plywood behind the wood rack on the porch to protect the vinyl siding from an oops. It gets brittle when cold.
Wow, y'all have moved a lot of wood, that looks really nice. Glad y'all are prepared for ... And that barn is super nice. Proud for y'all.
Thanks for all the great compliments. It is all on Chaz. He has been working his butt off. No wood is near siding. The house is cinder block and we have a good 6" in the barn between walls and stacks
Thanks everyone Kinda tired out this old, out of shape body.. but it's nice to have the wood out of the constant rain we've had this year. Some of what Chazsbetterhalf will post should be ready to burn by 2022, but some won't be ready for another year. Still a lot of wood to move before the snow begins.. but we'll do what we can.
Well lad, you have done yourself very well this year. Now with the fall rains you might be able to rest up some.
