Morning All. Clear skies and a bit chilling here this morning. We are camped in one spot for a few days. Holiday is going great. I could get used to living on the road. I hope you are enjoying the pictures I am posting.

    Everyone have a great day.

Good afternoon. Woodwidow been enjoying your pics. Thank you for sharing
Started the day at 32* and up to 59*. Partially sunny out.
Chaz is still working on moving the splits in the barn. Then he will be working on some rounds that are split. Want to get these out of the weather. Do have a fan blowing on the splits.
    Have a great day all.

50's and cloudy here today. Got the winter tires on the truck then took it down to the local body shop to be under oiled for winter. Have it done every fall. It is a 2009 with original paint and 127,000 kms. and absolutely NO RUST anywhere on, in or under it.

Spent the morning doing some cutting of downed oak. What a mess to get in to do any cutting. DSC03858.JPG DSC03859.JPG DSC03860.JPG DSC03861.JPG Being on a hillside doesn't help. Used one tank of gas in my 192T and about 3/4 tank in my 029 super.

I noticed other oak trees that were down or dead. I have a triple stem red oak that is dead. The DBH is about 12 inches on one stem almost 2 feet on the other two stems. Lots of other trees down in the same area
    DSC03862.JPG DSC03863.JPG DSC03864.JPG DSC03865.JPG I guess the triple stem trees are about 70 to 90 feet tall.

I was able to get only 1 trailer load of wood brought to my processing area before I ran out of gas. Temps in the low 80's will do that to someone over 70YO.:BrianK:
DSC03867.JPG DSC03866.JPG I have another 2 trailer loads to get out of what I cut today.

My goal for this fall is to finish one set of pallets with split wood and fill my other set of pallets with blocks of wood to be split next summer

I can relate! Some of our happiest time were when Judy and I were travelling and camping. We did sort of live on the road at times and enjoyed it. We had spent whole winters away and sometimes whole summers.

Yes, we are enjoying the pictures and imagining being there.

Eric, it is good you still get out there to get the work done. Do it as long as you are able. The woods looks like the typical mess to work in. Be very careful with that triple oak!

    Good morning, everyone.

A bit showery this morning. Today's high should be in the low 60's.

Taking dad to an ear/nose/throat specialist this morning. Hopefully the reason for a persistent earache can be found and remedied.

    Stay safe
    Stay healthy

Great work on that big undertaking! If you can just get rounds out of the woods and stacked on pallets, you get yourself way ahead.

Mike you are wise to get your father's health issues investigated before he goes into assisted living. In my mom's facility, the doctor only swung through once every week, so it was up to the nurse to pick up on any patient problems... which was hit or miss.

Good morning everyone! Well, I got the shed emptied yesterday. I went off on a tangent repotting houseplants, before I put all the pots back in the shed. Today I'll cram everything back in there. Some stuff is going to the dump.
My brother quit his job, and on his last day of work got exposed to Covid. He gets his test back on Friday. He's vaccinated, so we're hoping he didn't get infected. He's pretty happy about quitting, he's going to take some time off before looking for a new job. This was him: C2VmNPl.jpg

    Have a great Thursday!

Thanks for the prayers and reminder. I'll tell him. Deer probably won't make it long down here. Gun season starts in a couple weeks.
