Dennis, we need to get you to try some different guns/ calibers for deer. I know 30/30's don't recoil much, but some other platforms/ rounds recoil even less.
Grandmother is doing well considering. Grandfather is going to be in hospital for a while yet, and there's talk he may need to be on a mask after he goes home. Honestly, I hope he's in the hospital until grandmother is ready to go home with him.
Dennis I use a crossbow too. I have a tendon in my shoulder messed up and need surgery (for like the last 15 years) to fix it. Regular compound bow I pull fine but after a short time I start shaking so bad I couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn. I miss our “city deer” season but it’s too warm then anyway. I have 2 1/2 months I can hunt after that.
Made. a bunch of little pieces out big uns I got a new saw an Echo CS-310. I wasn't real impressed with it at first. The more I run it the better I like. Nice and light so I don't get it in the back as much. Between the saw and my new sawbucks I was able to get a lot done with out resting for my back. I have to get my splitter uncovered so I can take it to GTG. A couple of truck loads of random lengths were tossed in front of the tongue. I have them about half cleared out.
I have a loner a friend wants me to try but haven't shot it yet. With my neck the way it is I'm a bit gun shy.
With the exception of the rounds, we finished burning the remnants of those infernal willows today! Just a couple more to cut down and burn. Probably add some aspen, basswood and alder to the next pile of brush also.
I painted the ceiling in the stove room tonight. I think it was a combination of having a fireplace/ insert in the room added up over the years, and with candles that burn on the mantle too, those probably didn't help with soot marks on the ceiling. Anyways, all back to white now.
