Thanks everyone for the moral support !!!!!! , it was 25000.00 to buy in so it is a big gamble for a part time shop but I am hoping it will pay off
    Thanks again JB

Just a little over an hour away from me. That distance isnt even "road trip" status. Looks like I found a husky dealer.

Yeah, it's apparently true. Unfortunately. Great saws, but you know how that whole company takeover/ buyout thing goes. Added to that is the rise of battery powered equipment.

Yep, & while I'm certainly impressed with them for what they are, they haven't made one that'll run with an 026 yet, let alone a big saw. The gassers are gonna be around for a good while yet.

The good news is we can look forward to a future of NOT putting carbs on granddads 018c that he uses once every two years and battery saws have pretty much eliminated the need for something like Easy2Start recoils.

For sure, I'm getting to the age that an electric starter on my big saws wouldn't be all bad.  I cut up two tractor bucket loads of smaller stuff with my 16" Milwaukee saw after work, kinda nice, no ear protection & not a bunch of chips down my shirt.

I have said for years that Husqvarna’s Biggest Weakness is their Dealer Network is too thin.

Things were better in 1991. Growing up, my Dad had a McCulloch SP60, heck of a saw for it’s time. Naturally when I bought my first house with a fireplace, I went looking for yellow and black. What a Disappointment the Mac line had become after Black and Decker bought them.

I started to research new saws, the best I could back then, Stihl and Husqvarna were the two names that kept coming up, I knew people with each, got their thoughts on each, ran some of each, and went to quite a few dealers for each. In the end, I decided that both brands built Excellent Quality tools, but I got more saw for my money with Husqvarna, and the 266XP was the Best fit for my needs at the time, a decision that I have Never regretted. My collection has grown, but 30 years later I still have that 266XP, and it is still an excellent saw, that is like an old friend every time I pick it up.

Where Husqvarna went wrong (at least in MY Opinion) was selling through Lowe’s, that really HURT their dedicated dealers, and the pro saws just weren’t enough to keep many dealers in business.

Fortunately, Lowe’s seems to be transitioning over to Craftsman chainsaws, if my area Lowe’s are any indication, more and more Craftsman saws and a dwindling number of Huskies, 1 or 2 on the shelf now. The Bar and Chain, tools and oil stocks seem to be holding up though.

Husky/Stihl brand preference can be regional, so I Hope that with a well stocked shop and Great service, you can build a Strong customer base.

Husqvarna are Great saws, Good Luck with your new addition, rebuilding their dealer network is where I think that Husqvarna needs to focus more, I am Glad to hear there is some progress, even if it isn’t in my area

    Doug

Excellent, let's get this show on the road & make some$$$$$$!
I think this sums it up really well. Dealers have to able to turn a good profit on product & service, it costs a crapload to be in business. I hope Husky learned that smaller local dealers are what's good for their brand. I run Stihl saws because I can get parts, chains etc. locally from a good dealer. If we had a Husky dealer of that quality I'd likely run those. Be that dealer & you will prosper.

It will be a little challenge I have 2 stihl dealers a mile in each direction one is a small mower shop the other is a John Deere dealer but over the 22 years I have been here I have always put service first and I have always had a good customer base even with customers from the other stores, the mower shop will not service anything you did not buy there ??? always seemed to be a strange policy to me, the lowes store @7 miles from me has repeatedly sent me service work I never turned anybody away I do not care what brand it is . Stihl has made it tougher for the independent shops with their fuel management since we have no access to their software to diagnose but fortunately I have a dealer that works with me on that so all is good so far
I think this will work out good bringing in work on the commercial side which is where I need to improve my sales
I am looking forward to this !!!!!!! Thanks again for all the comments JB
