Yep that is what I do. I burn a lot of elm some years. So it is good to have.

Update: Tree service came yesterday morning and took it down. He was bucking up the wood when i stopped. He just bought a new Stihl MS170. Bark loose and coming off. IMG_5655.JPG He cut up whole tree and staged rounds for me. Keeps his yard very tidy and wanted the wood off the grass ASAP. Ill pull a load tomorrow and the rest on Saturday. (Rain Friday here) He is keeping some smalls. IMG_5656.JPG IMG_5657.JPG IMG_5658.JPG IMG_5659.JPG On a score this easy, how can i say no even though it is elm?

No way I'd pass that up, it'll split okay too I'd bet.

Bro. PLEASE take that Elm... Split it, stack it and burn it. Elm is primo firewood once it's processed. It burns clean and hot. It coals up nicely too. I take all I can get. I've never had any issues with it.

That is an easy score. Migbt let it sit a little longer, then split with the hydro.

My vote is to wack it with the iso a few times and video it. You know why you can say no, just show us the results. :smoke:

Dunno if i have time today to grab any. Saturday for sure. He may be keeping the bark on pieces, but not sure. My flip phone does video, but i dont know how well i can get one. For your entertainment (and FHC too) i will do just that. I was actually going to let the rounds sit for several months per some FHC members advice and they will split cleaner. Id prefer splits and not shreds! I will use hydro at that time.

When i stopped late Friday i took the Isocore to one of the biggest rounds. Wanted to half to load. After several whacks just bounced off i gave up. A few years ago my wood splitting ego wouldve kept going, but my body keeps reminding me im not as young as i used to be! Didnt think to try yesterday when Eric Schamell came to grab the load.
