Beautiful day! Need to add Cherry to the title. Nice size ash had a couple rows of barbed wire in it. Fortunately I saw it before it touched my chain. probably the deepest notch I’ve used. It was 5 trees in this cluster. Mostly ash but they got hung in the cherry, so I took it down. Base was full of rot and termites.
Picture perfect notch there Jason! Nice when you spot metal before the saw finds it. Not easy to see sometimes.
The ExtraSuasage 365. Man-o-man this saw is a ripper! My aunt and uncle live beside my parents and when we walked back to my truck he came right over and wanted to see the saw. He couldn't believe how nasty it sounded. I used the ported 2150 a lot too. It's light as can be and has real good power. The rakers were just a tad high on both chains I ran on it. It cut well, just not as aggressive as I like. The truck is loaded with the 357 and the 2150 for tomorrow. Hitting it again in the am.
This one was marked with a blue dot of paint. I think the land owner is letting us know what he wants gone. Looks like poison on it so it may wait till later. Decided to help dad split most of the walnut. This was before shot. Big ol beastie! And after:
Took my splitter over to dads and helped split the remaining wood from this get. Pics for proof. Separated the cherry and walnut. This pile of ash should push my parents over the top for their wood needs this year.
Always great hearing about someone helping their parents my dad always like how dry do you want that wood.. your burning it not building with it!!
I keep sharing some nice ones from Marketplace but they just haven’t pulled the trigger yet. The first one I found was free! Dad couldn’t get there till the weekend, which was a couple days and it was gone when he asked to see it. He really wants to be able to sit next to an open fire so he has asked if he would be able to open the door on occasion. I told him probably when the coal bed is just right. Maybe that’s what is holding him up.
My friend does that on his stove. I used to do it when it was just coals and let the heat radiate. Glass door so i was still able to watch the flames.
I bet he would love a nice big glass door to watch that fire. I don’t believe I’ve seen one with that yet.
