En route to look at a job this afternoon in a neighborhood i dont travel often. Pass a couple boxes of wood scraps next to the road and a guy in the driveway loading his minivan. I back up and ask. He says take what i want. He was taking it to the dump after being curbside for a couple days. Cedar, oak rippings and some two by scraps including usable cedar boards and western red cedar 4x4's. I'll only burn raw, unfinished wood so i left the stuff with finish on it. NOTE: the rounds in my PU are fir from a job i did today. Recyling center tomorrow. The 4x4's. One was finished. These wont get burned. Has to be over $50 just in usable cedar. I have a board hoarding "problem" too. Is there a BHC?
For what you got perhaps you should have helped him out and took it all to save him a trip to the dump.
It does look like some good wood for future projects. But it also makes for good kindling. It is a win no matter what you use it for.
I wouldve given the guy the shirt off my back had it warranted but he was more than happy for what i took.
