    Welcome Robert, glad to see new folks. We love pictures! I agree with the others about the fireplace. Nice to look at, but no good without an insert. A free standing stove with a glass front is the most efficient way to go. Get a good one if you can afford it. They are not all equal. Lots of folks here with years of experience willing to help. Don't be shy.

    Welcome to the club. Lots of great folks here sharing knowledge and humor. Congratulations on your retirement. You have a great list of toys...err...tools that you need. Might consider a grapple, it will make moving logs so much safer/easier...
    As was mentioned above, get that wood cut, split and stacked...
