You too. BTW, I heard a rumor that large quantities of brew helps clear out spackle dust. :D:coldone::coldone::coldone:

Labor Day weekend was for labor. Mowing my neighbor's yard, sanding mud that I had done previously, painting ceilings, taping crown moulding to paint said ceilings in some rooms, removing moulding and painting it in other rooms. Running out for more paint and calling my dad for his 85th birthday.

I knew the ceiling tiles were nasty - but the contrast between cutting in and the unpainted tiles is incredible. Makes the White Chocolate color look absolutely white

    Same section fully painted

Crown moulding painted Kona Brown for the living r0om

Living room wall painted (1st coat) - had to do the stairway side as well as over the doorway too on all new sheet rock installed previously.

2 Living room tiles had been replaced earlier. The originals were from 1960, so the pattern was totally different (plus, they were truly white). I covered the pattern up with mud to blend them in a little. Now that the ceiling is painted, you can tell they are there if you are looking for it, but not in general.

Have two more ceilings to paint plus mow my own yard.

So it looks like I’m going to pull the pin and take a page out of J’s book. I retired 20 months ago. In that time I’ve finished renovating the last 2 rooms in our home of 35 years. All new interior paint. Converted all the stained woodwork to white. Carpet gone. Oak hardwood in. New state of the art boiler. 18 new Andersen windows. The real estate market here in eastern Mass is white hot. Value of this house has gone up 100K in one year. Time to sell. This Covid bubble has to start leaking soon. It will cost us less to rent for a couple years until we figure out what we are going to do down south. Wife still works. We have the place in Maine from May to November. I may have burned my last bag of pellets….

That will be different and exciting while you figure out what you want to do and where you want to be when you grow up :)

Ahh, shucks [kicks the dirt], what a nice thing to say. The last couple of years I have been the queen of procrastination and have only gotten a few projects completed. And then the price hikes of the last 6 months has absolutely killed any ambition I had (or the desire to hire anyone). I needed this week off with nothing else to do to get myself talked into trying to finish projects that I already have the majority of materials for.

Made the move to NC about 3 1/2 years ago....best thing I did. Just about everything is cheaper here (food is about the same, and the initial car registration is a shocker), and no real winter to speak of.....we've had 1/2" total in the 2 complete winters I've been here. February is nasty & dreary, but otherwise I love it.

As you may remember, my daughter lives in Charlotte. We’ve looked around and visited several places in NC SC and GA. Nothing has given us that “this is it!” feeling yet. Wife wants to be in a golf community. Me not so much. I know who’s going to win that battle. We’ll figure it out….
