Glad this splinter group formed from the other site. My first few (and only) posts there had me feeling like a pinata. I enjoy having a beer and just hanging out by my new stacks, and I'd like to keep it as simple as that.

    :drunk:
Must have been a lot of work getting this going, so thanks to whoever did that. As I understand it, there is a Scotty of whom they often speak...

Welcome to the forum this is a nice laid back place to hang out, enjoy each others company, learn and share. We owe Scotty a big thanks for getting this place going and the mods for helping him keep it together.

Thanks for the welcome and the compliments on the stove and hearth! I hadn't done tiling in years, and never worked with stone before, did it in slate, and I'm happy with how it came out.

Just had a few fires to season it in May, so it hasn't been put through its paces yet. The books and covers on the wall are for our kids - my wife is homeschooling all four of them.

With the install of the Ideal Steel in a month or two, I can give some side by side comparisons for anyone who has any questions about how they perform. The chimneys will be the same height, and you can't get much closer as far as conditions are concerned I would guess.

That is about the neatest stove I have ever seen. Think there will be a kitchen cook stove model developed?

"enjoy having a beer and just hanging out by my new stacks, and I'd like to keep it as simple as that." ... pretty sure that's never happened before... ;) I sit and watch my firewood drying a lot... ... you've got lots of friends here who do the same thing ... welcome.

I asked about that at the factory, and they said it's not in their plans. If it was, I'd be all over it!

    WELCOME !

Hoarding of wood is the most obvious because of the space it takes up but many other smaller collections are here also!

Here I am, as usual, last to the party. Good to see some familiar faces.

As the token librul, other than 'no politics' any other 'rules' I should know about? :D
