I already moved a cord into the barn and filled the racks with cherry cut back in the spring. There is a half cord cherry split and ready to stack this weekend. Piles of rounds out back to move too.

Did my yearly boiler maintenance this morning. The intake was pretty dirty and nearly plugged off. I burned a lot of less than dry maple over the summer making DHW so I'm not surprised. Probably has an extra 100HP now.

The wood bin for our son to sell bundles is just about done. Made mostly from leftover materials from building projects. Tried to keep it in theme with the house. We will see how it goes. Wood bundles and cherry smoker chunks are in there. All the wood is kept in the barn out of the weather.

He is happy it is done and he will stock and manage it. I'll help him get more bundles put up this weekend. We are hoping the drier air will get people outside enjoy and put some jingle in his pocket.

The iron sign bracket is from the prior owners. We believe they sold either produce or eggs years ago.

Afternoon everyone. I finally was forced to slow down.

I had to go on a business trip to FL last week, and came home with Covid. Luckily, Charlotte was the only one to catch it from me. She has mild symptoms. Mine hasn't been too bad, but its been kicking ny azz for the past 36 hours with exhaustion and a fever.

Apparently, my J&J shot wasn't as good as the Pfizer that Jen and Skylar have. At least it made my symptoms mild.

    Stay safe everyone!

    Glad you are doing better.

That said, the J&j shot is said to be more effective against the Delta variant vs the moderna and Pfizer shots.

There's a whole lot of variables though.

    Thanks Dave!
Exactly. Way too many variables. I was side by side with a vendor the entirety of the trip other than on the planes or in hotel rooms. Hes good and im sick. Not sure what vaccine he got though.

The main thing is that you are not in a hospital, that's what the vaccine is supposed to prevent. Then there's those that had covid before getting a vaccine, and the vaccine then acts like another booster.

Each person reacts differently and it could have easily been the other way around - same with your family. Even for those without the vaccine, some family members get wicked sick, and some only knew they had it because they took a test. The shot doesn't keep you from getting it, just helps your body recognize it and build a defense faster.

Like the Shingles vaccine - if you've had the chickenpox, you have a very real possibility of developing shingles later in life and the virus is already inside your body (just dormant I think). The vaccine doesn't kill the virus but somehow helps your body overcome it before it becomes a problem, although there are break-thru cases. A coworker has had Shingles since last week and he is in massive pain with sores all over his face. He says he looks like he was in a knock-down, drag-out fight because of all the scabs.

Absolutely. My symptoms were quite mild. The worst of it for me so far has been the body aches and utter exhaustion, literally the most exhausted Ive ever been in my life. Yesterday I was able to work from 7-12, but then I was on the couch unable to move for the rest of the day. Jen went out and came home with Dayquil, and some kind of green juice and that really helped. I couldnt get to sleep after with the dayquil though, and was up until midnight.

This morning, I feel almost normal. We will see what the day brings though. I did find a few things that I can taste though! Yogurts and pizza so far.

Nuts. Let us hope this does not last long. Really sad both of you got it.

Not sure one can blame a vaccine as different people react differently to this and many other things. We are still all different.
