I had to mow 2 weeks ago. But I sat and procrastinated. And the grass grew.

First it was to hot for days on end. Heat index of 110°. And the grass grew.

Then it was days of rain, nearly a foot over 2 weeks, and still the grass grew.

Yesterday I had to spend most of the day at the doctor, nothing serious, so there was no time to mow. And the grass grew.

Now it's today and I can't think of a thing to say so I don't have to mow. And the grass grew.

I've found the words to say; I better get off me arse and mow before the wife throws me in the stew!

Any pictures of where you've mowed, next to where you haven't?

What are you mowing your "field" with? Might be really slow going.

I'm having to mow some spots twice. First on the highest setting and then come back again to knock it back some more. Not a good practice to get a golf course perfect weed-free lawn. I gave up spending all the $$$$ and effort on a nice lawn a long time ago. I can do it. I have done it. I might have pictures somewhere.
Now I do it just so UPS and Fedex can find the house.

They hire goats to mow/trim/clear brush? Or they rent out their goats?

They hire them to clear out the stuff growing on a hill. Amazing what they'll eat.

Friend of mine has a very steep pond bank overrun with thick briars and brambles from HE!!. He tried weed wacking them and almost bleed to death. He then decided to fence it off and he put 3 goats in there. In about a month they had it chomped down to barely noticable stubble. Now each year the goats get to go on the pond bank vacation for a couple of weeks and he and the goats haven't looked back since.
