Been busy lately and haven’t posted much. But we started getting snow on the high mountain passes on August 20th. I drove Independence pass on the 19th and it was 32 degrees at the top at 3 pm.

I’ve got my stoves loaded. Probably light them in the next couple of weeks!

That reminds me of the time we had a snowstorm a few years back in October here in NY where all the leaves were still on the trees and the trees all just bent over from the weight.

Yikes it's 80 degrees .........INSIDE MY HOUSE.......Just turned on the AC. What the.......?

I try not to be in a hurry for any season to come but that mountain snow does look tranquil. This year I got a jump on things and filled the racks behind the house on Memorial Day weekend. All that's left for me to do is clean the chimney sometime in September, and I do have to replace one fire brick this year.

Tis that time of year in the mountains. A friend left here yesterday headed to Colorado for some elk hunting. I'd like to go but I doubt I could handle the mountains any more.

I’m heading to south part of Wyoming this weekend to elk hunt with a buddy for a couple days. Just got a text from him saying to bring a jacket gloves and stocking cap

I can confirm that. The nights are officially cold here again. Hope you fill your freezer!

My indoor wood racks are loaded up. But I still need to clean the chimneys too. Thanks for the reminder!

Pretty average. I’m glad to see the snow. I like our short summers here.

Summer wood chopping really drains you. Feels good to sweat but after a while it becomes mentally draining too.

My favorite season too. Winter sucks because shoveling sucks, even with a snowblower. Summer too hot, humid, and yucky. Spring = allergies although after allergy shots mine are 10,000 better than before but also tends to be a bit rainy. Fall is the best!!

Yes. All of just what you said for sure. Always enjoyed working outside more and got the most done in the fall.

I completely agree. I love fall. Cool weather. Beautiful. Frequent, lighter snow storms. I like winter, but its hard here. It’s a struggle to keep the driveway open during the winter.
