Same thing is happening here, they tried VT and NH and both states shut it down now it’s here and is a fight to the end. If another state needs power then they should find a way to produce it and not say we will use your useless land to get it. They are buying up tons of farmland here to put solar panels in that don’t produce chit in Maine. Ruin your own state. Follow the money on all of it.

Unless u know for sure not all that power might not be leaving the state, DC transmission lines are very expensive but are the most efficient way to move electricy a long distance.
I worked on turbines all over the country and a good share of it goes on a local grid.

It is slated for Massachusetts. It is a dc line going in from Quebec if it actually happens. This state is getting practically nothing. We might see a 10 cent reduction in our bill each month. They claim that maybe a small amount of the power will go to this state but we don’t really need it.

I dont understand why the states dont get more money for the land usage, some here are getting 11 thousand dollars a year per turbine. The jobs are very well paying so some benefit there.

They should and so should the people it impacts. This line has been rammed down people’s throats but we have the last say come November. Currently a major piece of the puzzle has been put to bed. Without it the most likely can not succeed as this strip is too difficult to work around. That should get us to November and let the people speak.

We're also having to deal with landfill issues because they are not degradable, but worse, you guys have to deal with the toxic solar panels. Uggg, I'm sorry.

We deal with the landfill too. We have a rule no out of state trash. Massachusetts trucks non stop to Maine. Drops at a “recycler” in Lewiston where it is reloaded and considered local trash. If it touches the ground it is local. Another big scam.

These pictures were taken by my neighbor today. TODAY. Guessing too many of those Bald Eagles and many heron/cranes/pelicans will be killed by the wind farm going in. Shame on our county BOD!

I haven't really followed this thread - in truth I thought it would devolve quickly and get shut down ;)

My belief is that some is man-made and some is Mother Nature and some is from outside influences. Anyway, I happened to think of this thread when I was on FB and saw this lecture being let by the Mt Washington Observatory (link to this specific page)

Mt washington abrupt end to ice age.JPG

My guess, and mind you it's only a guess, is that the event had nothing to do with gasoline powered cars or man-made green house gasses.

And just in case anyone is interested, this link goes to their website that hosts videos of previous lectures.

If we're going to start removing all structures that birds fly into, then power towers and even homes are gonna hafta go. No more baseball, too. We could start with the bigger threat of cats. Then we might have a new problem, kinda like the one of too many deer.
