I think wind is a good alternative! Ironically it comes with many other deficiencies. Are the blades not made of carbon fiber, (fiberglass) which is made form what? Where did the steel towers come from? Where is the (Mother company from)? Where are the generators made? I know where the bearings are mostly made. Where are the electrical components made?

And, how did we all do it (after too WWII) when EVERYTHING, NOTE, EVERYTHING WAS MADE HERE! Chaz.... My Father was a Commercial Fisherman, My Mother was a hospital Nurse and my aunt was a Mechanical Engineer for for Sykorski Helicopter and there was 12 car companies in this country then. Money stayed here, families thrived after the war, economy boomed! *WATCH THIS*.... NO outsourcing! Isn't that amazing...

Idk Dave, I'm getting 600' tall sky scraper turbines behind my home but the e- produced will go to another state and all the "farm" produces is some rent, which is happening to me right now. We did not buy in the middle of nowhere surrounded by BLM/Open Space, and put up the unusual hard conditions without normal utilities here to have a wind "farm" put up behind us.

Wind turbines are the ugliest, futuristic, eye ball hurting gadgets ever built. It saddens me every time I see them somewhere.

Do you know where the power is going for sure, one of the sites here is put on a DC transmission line and goes to Chicago but many of the sites dump onto our local grid. Now many people think all the power produced by the wind turbines leaves the state.
I live in the middle of nowhere and there are turbines close to me and if a farmer wants to spread chit next to me i have to accept it.

The farmers who are getting about 11 grand a piece think they are beautiful.

It was all stated within my post.

If you'd rather cherry pick lines to argue about, that's up to you.

Truth! Sparky, I live in Wyoming, the electricity is going to Colorado. The farm developer company is from Texas. We do not produce blades here in Wyoming (I might guess they will come from Vestas in Windsor Colorado). There is a ton of money being made on this farm, in exchange we get miniscule BLM lease rent.

Bureau of Land Management-Open space for wildlife and recreation and they also lease out parcels to ranchers for example.
