Perhaps try a cheap new carb on eBay/Amazon. If that doesn't work then it must be a leak somewhere else.

Just in case you are planning to pick this up again, an older thread I was on got revived in the last day or so with some info on the metering side gasket that might be of use. Maybe not. FWIW

 

Hello All.

I tried to order a replacement China carburetor from ebay, and (of course) it wasn't the right one.

But while I had the saw apart, I noticed that the female end of the fuel line, that the brass Male end of the carburetor plugs into when that case is closed up was damaged due to being improperly aligned some how. I've ordered ANOTHER fuel line, and will try again when I get home in a few weeks.

I haven't given up, but darned if this hasn't been a process...
