It’s also a great place to make money though. I know I get paid significantly more to teach here than my sister and niece in Vermont.
Keep the friends close, and the enemies even closer. Sounds a little like a threat, if that were said to me. Akin to wishing someone bad luck. Sca
Can PA give NJ Filthadeliphia, er Philadelphia? That city is a hole. Gives PA a bad name. I'll throw Harrisburg in for free.
Warner, If someone came asking for wood of mine, and I denied their request, and they responded with "it will rot before you get to it", or some such, yup I'd be watching that one very carefully. They may do nothing, but they've displayed a hint of something that makes them a blip on the radar. Maybe a Col. Cooper color yellow. Sca
This guy is just ignorant. There are no municipal entities he can complain to and I would hope he is smart enough not to do something that might get him dead. House/ yard/ driveway is monitored and recorded.
Sounds like the guy is of the old school of thought regarding firewood.....if its in a stack, it'll rot
Sigh. Yet it doesn't surprise me. Have a friend with a firewood side business. Somehow he ended up with customers coming and picking his piles for "premium cooking wood". Still trying to figure out what makes it "premium". It works for him as they pay extra and tip with six packs of craft beer while grabbing pieces of Oak and Cherry they could buy in a party store bundle.
That’s technically called Heat Treating, in terms of pallet/shipping crates. I had to know about this for building such containers. Kiln drying of wood for stability/construction takes a little longer. Semantics takes an ignorant turn on the internet all the time. Not arguing your info Bill, just saying there’s a clear differentiation out there.

So if that’s the company you bought from, they obviously sent you subpar “kiln dried” wood... and there may be many reasons that you got the load you did... faulty equipment at their facility, lack of training/QC, etc.
Not only did they send me subpar kiln dried wood, they sent it to me twice. They offered to replace it for free. Guess what? Surprise, surprise! Same thing. Sizzling and trash wood.
