I raced for 10 years or so until 1995. Mostly in Maine. Fun. Like Nascar and about all types of racing.
Weekly at Wiscasset Speedway or Unity Raceway depending on what year.. Raced to Oxford Plains, Speedway 95 and Spudd Speedway a few times. I would have never go out of it but it took a lot of time and cash.
A good straight line show to go to is the Brainerd Nationals. Had front row seats so to speak a few years ago. Good gawd duern tarnashin Unbelievable. It forked up all my phone video's there was so much concussion when they left the line! Nothing else like it. If you go....Check out the campground. Rather interesting gathering of humanity..... For Nascar try Charlotte. Good times visiting the local race shops/headquaters of several teams. Stayed with Greg Biffle's right front tire changer and had T.Stewerts crew over after the race. Dem boys can party! Burp
I’ve watched MotoGP for many years. The GOAT will retire after this season. Watched a lot of Indy car as a kid, and through my 20’s which also included some F1. Had a spell watching nascar too. Went to a bunch. Totally lost interest after my favorite driver retired. Attended a couple top fuel drag races. Was dragged to a couple dirt track races, lol.
Dirt racing was always on the agenda 20 years ago. And a great time. Been to a couple of Nascar events also . Now days rather watch drag racing. Headed to Brainerd this weekend for lucas oil nationals. Just can't beat nitro methane .
Race anything and I'm in , I am just a motorsports guy and probably will never outgrow it , I hope anyway. Kind of an addict when it comes to speed and the adrenaline rush that goes with it. Hopefully I don't grow up anytime soon.
Scary thought right there. Thinking about that I hope I can go the other way with age. If I get any older I won't be able to keep up. He is a worker for sure. Don't know where he gets his energy from but he's got it !
I've been to Nascar , Indy car , Drag races , boat races , snowmobile races motorcycle races. If it's racing I'm in. Actually heading to a local circle track in a few weeks with the wife. She has never been and was able to get free tickets to the races and the VIP hospitality tent with free pig roast and beer , Sounds good to me.
I'm situated around several dirt tracks here in PA. Williams Grove which is the host of the World of Outlaws national open in October and Lincoln speedway. I can hear either one on race nights. We used to sneak into the Grove when we were kids.
I have heard a lot of good about Williams Grove. Probably the closest the WOO gets to me. That might be worth a road trip. Always wanted to see them but just haven't made it yet. It's on the bucket list.
Anything firewood, OCD and coffee! I guess working alone and doing manual labor my whole life it gets to be a mindset. Now getting me and the old body in that mindset is another story.
We can hear the Grove and Susquehanna from Oak Hill. Spent a lot of nights at the Port and Silver Spring back in the day.
