We have a canopy and 2 fans, pedestal and 24 drum fan on the woodyard. Right now, the splitter is in a shady area. We don't have that luxury when we are out hoarding/hauling logs... I can't sit around and do nothing. Some of our customers are getting smart and ordering ahead. Split into the trailer and deliver, saves handling.
Finally got done splitting the pile of huge rounds which were mostly ash with some red maple, poplar, and mulberry. This mixed hardwood pile measures 85’ long. Add that to my other mixed pile and I have about 160’ of mixed. I estimated my oak piles at 420’ feet long and my locust pile at 20’ long. That puts me slightly ahead of what I had done last year when it was all over. We’ve been hitting it pretty hard and hope to continue to do so for the next 3 weeks or so. The next few days though will be are forecasted to be 99 and very humid with real feel close to 110 so those days I probably won’t work much if at all past noon.
I have a lot of repeat customers but I do seem to pick up neighbors or friends of regulars as new customers
Looking good up there, brother. Nice rows. If ya get tired of the scenery up there, bring that TW6 down, we could use the help...... I showed my hunny the pictures when you helped Robbie the other day, she was very impressed, said we needed a splitter like that... I reminded her I was looking at the Wolfe Ridge when we got the County line...
This is when I tapped out today. Was also on my third shirt. Couldn’t even get the first one off without ripping it off like hulk hogan.
At what temp do Georgians consider it HOT? Heat index was well over 100* here yesterday and i suffered even stacking in the shade. I cant take the heat.
