I have a 70 foot tall bur oak in my yard and love it (so do the animals when it drops its acorns). I have noticed many leaves on it are partially brown. Does anyone know what is causing this? Should I be concerned?

(not a firewood post so my apologies)

I think you may be correct. Thank you.

I had something very similar on some red oak and maybe some on white oak but don't remember for sure on the white. I did nothing and the next year all was well.

I hope its bark isn't worse than its blight.

My Bur oaks went through that a few years ago. The next year was a boom year of acorns ! They should spring back and be fine

Thanks for that info. Hoping mine gets through. From what I have read the fungus can be brought on by heavy rains. We had a very wet July so I am thinking that was a major contributor.
