Methinks people worry too much about bears. They are afraid of you too. Movies and tv try to tell you bad things...

When I was stationed at Finland Radar Station, we had many black bears. They wanted our food, our garbage, but never us. Unless you were stupid and walked up to one of them, or tried to hand them some food, you were OK. Those who got into the bears face got hurt. The bears would cuff them. I saw bears just inches away from my windows looking in. I would stand still, they would wander off. I was much more concerned about wolves. They normally kept their distance, but more risks.

The rain has been streaming from southwest to northeast like this since yesterday.
4 and 3/4 inches so far and it is still coming.

Kinda makes up for all the rain that went north or south recently I guess.
Hoping all my tomatoes don't split and pop.

The only time I got a bit scared of bears was when I was working at a private girls camp in Northern Wisconsin. We drove the jeep pickup out to the dump in the woods, it was one of those nights where there was no light at all. I was in the bed of the PU and I could hear a bear coming thru the woods and when I could hear him breathing but still couldn't see him, figured it was time to get into the cab.:hair::bug:

LOL. I've got some wetlands on my property and was trying to push the moose farther into the woods (interrupted its dinner). This spot is near the only road through the mountain pass and tourists seem to have no problem wandering onto my property to try and get up close and personal with wild animals to take pictures (can't fix stupid). I was more focused on getting the moose away from the road and into the woods than taking a picture so I ended up with a sasquatch-style shadowy pic of moose-butt. C'est la vie.

Black bears, yeah, they aren't too aggressive. A grizzly? That is a different bear.
