I went and picked up the Poulan for KilliansRedLeo today. It is a very unique saw. I must say that this thing has character and charisma.
    And it's loud as Chit!!

I also wanted to take my 362C-M :dex:out for a pass. I only had a chitty Forester chain (the one that came with my Old Forester bar. I left all my new and good 18"s at the cabin :()

I also have a video of my BIL 562xp.
Just for comparison ;). It has a fairly new Woodland Pro chain on it. Its in better shape than my Forester was..

The Cant as the GTG was only 3 days old (fresh cut). After almost 3 months, it is much harder, and is almost rough to cut in. My 460 was running just over 4 seconds at the GTG (video of MasterMech running it in G2G pics). A couple weeks back HittinSteel came over and that time was just up over 6 seconds. That's around a 30% longer cut time.

So I feel the times with the 362 can't really be compared to saws at the GTG. I will be buying an 18" and updating with new video of both saws (I have a 20"). Just to see what a new chain does compared to my 460, 441, and 665.

So here is a video for your viewing pleasure :)

362 was about 8.4 second average.

Only 1 pass with the Poulan - 24 seconds

562 was about 11.6 second average

With equal chain tomorrow or Tuesday, it will be a fair race. 20" bar, same chain..

I was gonna get a 18" for the Sugi, but for it to be a fair race? It should be the same chain. Not just the same chain on a different length bar..

Well charisma The Poulan may have but it certainly is SLOW! Perhaps I should have you send it directly to Randy for a little charm school to compliment the charisma! LMFAO!

I don't know what to tune it to? It cleaned up in the wood (I made 3 cuts before I made the video).

AnotherSite is the site Steven was referring to.

I think with a better chain (I didn't want to touch it. Its not mine to mess with) and maybe a better tune and fuel (I don't know what the mix ratio is that the gentleman had, but it's pretty thick).

Thank you KilliansRedLeo for telling me I could run it and have some fun. I really appreciate that. Made going and getting it much more worth the while. I got to help you out and I also got to run a really cool old saw. I hope you enjoy buddy.

The good ol' days....weren't. That Poulan is S-L-O-W compared to the new saws. Still cool though. Good on you, Dex, for helping out a member.

You are welcome Dexter, it was my pleasure, and thank you for expending the effort and time to go get it. The chain is going to be a problem the seller said 7/16 or .404, if it is 7/16 that stuff is made out of unobtainium, .404 would be better.

Looked on AS could not find reference to Randy and the Solo 665 someone send a link.
