I have been skipping out on breakfast all summer but it was raining this morning which meant no cutting or splitting for me today. Instead, I decided to be lazy and fry up some homemade scrapple. Mmm!
Bwahaahaaa A few years ago, at Well Seasoned GTG, there was scapple. I believe it was brought and prepared by bear 1998 . My opinion of it was formed at that time, and remains unchanged to this day. I found it to be "interesting". Something I have not craved since trying some, at that time.
I tried it when I was stationed in MD many years ago and was not a fan. To each their own. I'll stick with black bear meat hash with my eggs for breakfast.
Havent had scrapple for awhile. My BIL and myself only ones who eat scrapple in my immediate family. jrider do you like hogmaw too? EODMSgt never had black bear hash. I'll have to try that one.
Speaking as a Brit, you guys over there do eat some strange things for breakfast: Biscuits & Gravy (yes - I like good B&G) Bacon & Syrup (no thanks - I like bacon the way nature intended) Grits (no!) Now I can add scrapple and hogmaw to the list. You can't beat a Full English breakfast with black (blood) pudding. Well maybe a Full Scottish beats it, with added Lorne sausage, potato cakes, white pudding and haggis.
Fresh loose sausage, cubed taters and onions stuffed in a pig stomach and the baked until golden brown.
Blood pudding is a hard no. My grandpa occasionally had it on the menu. I’d rather have a lard and onion sammich.
