The record-breaking weekend temperatures in the West drove this bear family to seek relief in the cool waters of Lake Tahoe. The locals (people) didn't seem to mind. Family of bears takes a dip in Lake Tahoe to beat the heat, people asked to stay away | Trending News,The Indian Express
There was a comment about Mother BROWN Bears being fiercely protective of their young, which is True, the picture quality isn’t that great, but those sure look like BLACK Bears to me. BTW, although Called “Black Bears”, Black Bears come in many colors, including Brown, Blonde and Cinnamon. Black Bears are much more Docile and less aggressive than Brown Bears. While you don’t want to make a Sow feel that her Cub is Threatened, Black Bears will all too often get more Comfortable around people, than is Good for them. I live on Mt Hood, in Oregon, and Black Bears are a common sight in our area, this year in particular, the Bears have been more active around people, than normal, and has cost one young Bear it’s Life already. In Oregon, it is uncommon for a Nuisance Bear to be relocated, they are usually put down, as in the past, relocated Bears ( Cougars, Wolves and Seals/Sea Lions) will cover large distances to return to where (Typically) the Easy Meals are. unfortunately, many new to the area enjoy feeding the Bears, and don’t realize, that “ A Fed Bear, is Soon a DEAD Bear” Please, as Beautiful as Wildlife is, Admire it from a Distance, and don’t Encourage them to become Acclimated to being around People, it usually doesn’t end Well for the Animals Doug
So true and it really irks me when people around here don't take care of their garbage. We live where bears roam freely through our community and there is nothing worse than to come across a garbage can contents strewn all over the road or spread over a vacant lot.
