Yes, they all have a learning curve. Which one did you get? Streaming stick, express, sound bar, etc? So many iterations. Roku does have the majority of streaming devices for take rate. There's a lot on their free channels too
It's the express. The guy told me "it would suit your needs" . I started laughing and said I know what you mean.....
Also finding stuff on streaming services seems to take forever. I guess of it had DVR on the streaming thing it would be better. Also I guess since these TVs are like computers they get obsolete and slow? The TCL I have went through a period it would randomly shutoff and reboot as you were just watching TV. To be fair my Dish DVR has to reboot randomly as I watch too. But back to TCL smart tv. As I am going through the app changing seasons in Discovery + app it locks up and I have to restart the app. Don't know if it's the TV the app or the combination. Add all this to my 14mbs internet and I have not been happy with the experience bi have had over the years. Have no problem paying my Dish bill to have my shows at my fingertips within 20 seconds when I want to watch. Also it fast cowards and rewinds Better on DVR
That's pretty slow internet speed for streaming. That could be it. I've got an lg TV, but I really don't use the Smart tv portion of it and use the Roku or the Google tv to stream. Some streaming services have a DVR, and others are watch when you want. Like I said, they are different than the cable/ satellite tv menus. So they take she time to adjust to.
That's as fast as I can get where I live. I can run off my cell phone since I have unlimited data while at home, since a few years ago they built a tower a half mile from my house. Speed is unreal over it where before I could hardly use the forum over cell signal at the house. It's just a pain to connect my phone to the tv and back to the wifi again when needed and then forgetting my hotspot is off the next time I stream and getting phone if it's not in arms reach. I'm old school I guess even though I'm technically not that old.
