I have half a notion to pack up and head north, but have a few things that have to be done.

Supposed be able to knock a few big things off the bathroom list today. My mirrors should be ready this afternoon...and the granite people should be back to install the sink sometime this morning. After those are done I just have to make a door for the recessed cabinet and I'm done until the weather cools off some. I have to take my vent line through the roof and I'm not getting up in the attic in this weather.

Trying to decide what my next project is. I was planning on building a new 32x48 shop this fall, but with prices of wood and steel still in outer space I'm going to have to put a hold on that.

I am feeling a little nostalgic today. I no longer live on a dirt road, the town paved it yesterday.

We live on the corner...the side road used to be gravel, very little traffic, nice. Then they paved the sections that were close to houses to reduce dust, nice. Then one day they paved the whole thing...mkay, even better. Then one day the state was paving the main route through town and the official detour was to go a couple streets over...pretty soon people found our little side road made a nice short cut...and some of them never forgot it...grr. Then a large local company built a new parking area (huge) that was pretty much at the other end of our little side road, many people realized that cutting down the side road was faster than going home through town...even more traffic...grrr. The last gut punch was a new bike trail opened up 500' from our property, complete with parking area...traffic has now exploded! GRRR! :hair:

I have a lot of reasons to hate traffic. Most of them go back to me having zero patience.

I live on a dead end road. Neighborhood traffic only.

This has probably been discussed elsewhere, however I have not seen a post.

Woke up today to a haze and a strong acrid odor (almost like an electrical fire). My biggest fear where I live is a forest fire however with the amount of rain we have had in July, that was unlikely. Checked the news (or what passes for it around here) and yup, it's from the wildfires out west. Had to laugh when the 'reporter' stated there would be no smell of smoke. Guess he's been living in the city too long. I could smell it as soon as I woke up.

I don't smell it, but it is kinda cloudy hazy here today...supposed to be sunny...suppose it is above that cloud of smoke...

Back to groundhogs brenndatomu and Horkn....three bags of DoubleBubble and I still have the big rats, only difference is that they are all walking around blowing bubbles. So is the theory that they eat the gum and you wait for their teeth to rot, then they can't eat?
