I still have probably 6 cubic yards of chips from hip drop in my driveway from earlier this summer, so I moved 7 carts full this evening.

I have been trying a new supplement that has been working really well for me, it is called 5-htp.
So the chain goes- triptifan (like from poultry) gets converted to 5-htp, then 5-htp gets converted to serotonin (the happiness chemical) then a few more transformations and then finally, that gets converted to melatonin (the chemical that causes sleepiness). Long story short, I have been happier, in better moods and have been sleeping better! Best 9 dollars I have spent in a long time!

House next to me is for sale. It's technically 2 doors over, but I think of it as next door because of the way the houses are laid out. Seems like it's just a private sale, and I can't find an ad for it even in the local classifieds. Wonder what the price is. It's one of the oldest houses in New Harbour

Planned on having a big fire today but will be tomorrow, weather permitting. A couple friends coming just to make sure it does not get out of control. This is some trash some dirtbag dumped on neighboring property. I told the owner I would clean it up for him. After all, he is getting older (almost as old as I) and he gave me a lot of wood to cut. We cut one huge red oak during our GTG this spring and there is more than enough wood from that one tree to heat our home for an entire year. That stump measured 69" across. The Wood Wolverine would have loved that one! lol

Dang! Lotta splits in those monsters. I recently picked up a used saw locally for a friend. On the ride there, I passed several biggins.

Lolol. I’ve never tried sycamore and from the stories heard, I’ll treat it like elm. So my list is elm, any gum, sycamore, and pine because we all know it will cause chimney fires.

Sycamore isn't bad.....the main problem is it so heavy when wet. Doesn't take that big of a round to be more than you feel like moving.

Got the mirror frames done and taken in for glass today. Might be done tomorrow, Friday at the latest. Sink should be installed by then too. Until I get those back and some other parts in, I'm at a standstill on the bathroom oroject. I'm taking the night off to vegetate...maybe watch a movie or something.

I don't know anybody around here that will work up elm. Too hard to split. Usually ends up at the dump. No one here burns pine either. Maine is 90% forested so there is no shortage of wood to choose from. I've tried telling others about pine, but they say the fire risk thing. Stubborn.

Talk about elm and pine is a bit similar in that both get bad raps...needlessly. Burning pine will not cause your house to burn down and elm does not have to be the devil of woods to split. I have proved both elm and pine are good for firewood.

Never burned pine yet. Only problem I have with it is when I have used it for woodworking in the past it gives my head pound and In no time Im not feeling well. Funny thing is I like the smell of it but dont want to work with it. That being said if its free I will burn it..:)

Got the exterior of the bathroom window trimmed out and caulked this morning. Might try to put the baseboard heater back in this evening.

Supposed to be a hot one here today @90*. Rain sets back in tomorrow through the weekend.
