    Hello all
    Looking at a running nice shape 036 pro with 18" 3/8" B/C.
Decent saw, turd ?? What's the going rate for one ?
So what do you all think?
    Thanks everyone

Should handle 18” b/c with ease. Almost cult following among the firewood cutters.

This answer! I've got one I paid $ 300.00 for, with a 24" bar on it. Guy claimed it was used to cut a big Pine. Saw ran good so I put a 20" bar on it & it cut really well. Was a go to firewood saw for several years, then I sent it to huskihl . Now that saw is flat out vicious, it pulls 20" 3/8 chain like nobody's business! It'll run with a stock 046 no problem. It's one of my favorite firewood saws. If you can get a decent price on it I'd grab it. If you don't want it I'll take it.

I have a 034 super that is essentially the same saw. One great firewood saw. Even better with the muffler opened up.

I would say in today's market even $450.00/$500.00 if it's good condition.

If I saw a descent one for $300 I’d be all over it even though I don’t need it. I’d saw $350 is the going rate, $400 for a really nice one.

In good overall condition $350-400. I traded 1 of my 036's (not pro) for my 462. PHO. My dealer gave me $350. I only paid $225 for it with 2 bars, 4 chains and a case. Good clean condition and decent compression are pluses.

I have 2 036 pro's. They are 60cc saw and with a simple muffler mod they run really well. Good saws, easy to work on, and parts can still be found.
I think 300.00 to 350.00 for a good saw is a fair price. I paid less for mine but that was 5 or 6 years ago. So 60 cc saw will handle a 20" bar with no problem and a 20" bar will cut some good size wood.

My most recent Stihl acquisition was an 036 pro. I like it better than my 361 even though i only ran two tanks of fuel though it so far. Had an issue (thought crank seals, but turned out to be clogged carb) buzz-saw fixed her up and she's back and running. May run it on some red oak tomorrow, if not this week for sure.
I got it with new 18" B&C and a used 25" B&C for $200 and traded a first generation 024 so $350 give or take. Kinda thinking it will be my go to saw in the near future. I didnt really need it, but a guy i know who flips OPE (mostly chainsaws) got it and fixed it up, decides to keep it for himself. Calls me a month later needing cash so its mine now.
If reasonable id grab it Keith. Did you ask yourself if you need another saw??? ;)

What is the difference? No decomp or adjustable oiler on the plain 036?

Air filter, air filter cover, carb (the compensating feature), sometimes the fuel line, sometimes the clutch drum and needle bearing, etc.

Carb collar screws, tank vent, decomp, and more. Ms360 had a few changes as well.

I like all 1125 series saws. I have a dozen or so (actually lost count, but I’m building two right now).

The great thing about this series is you can make small changes that are easy to do to improve the saw-
    Updated 1127 fuel line
    Upgraded fuel filter
    Upgraded drum and needle bearing
    Air filter mods
    Muffler mods
    Softer/harder AV depending on preference

$300-$350 is a fair price for a good used saw. I got my 036 super for $125. It's a bit rough but has run for 2 years. I put a new clutch drum with bigger bearings on it, new pull start, and a new air filter.

No decomp but has adjustable oiler. Way better than the 361 I have. The one on the left is the one I traded for the 462. The other is retired. 20160226_141035.jpg

That pic is a few years old. I have another that is my go to when I need it. The 361 was my dad's and it got to be to much for him. Only thing the 361 has over the 036 is the antivibe mounts. Kinda regret trading that 036 but you know how it is when you want a new saw.
