This heat's about doing me in, I may have to go squat on WeldrDave or Well Seasoned 's place. I'm told I can't move to Alaska as it's too far away. How's your back forty, any room?
Back 40s fine with exception of a few deer flies and skeeters.. even have a man camp out there for guests who like solitude!! Temp is a blistering 66* right now. Only 2 days forecast over 80 in next 12.. Which is good as my wife hibernates over 86 in AC
You ain't the only one!!! I hate this $#!T. It's averaged 90º every day except yesterday when it rained. Humidity here is always 90 to 100%
The weather was warm a day or two last week but other then that, it's pretty comfy out. Upper 60s the rest of the week.
Mid 60's and cloudy after a few days of rain. Few peeks of sun and starting to dry out a bit. Chunkies of splitter scrap, bark and lumber scraps keeping the fire going. Marinated steak tips on the charcoal. Happy Fourth all
The relentless rain moved out and we finally hit 70 today. My outdoor woodpile was pretty soggy in sections so I’m speed drying a few splits. Got a mixture of punky hemlock, punky oak, some white pine and cottonwood going. Once the sun goes down the s’mores will be on deck. Happy birthday America!
I actually thought of it at one time, but the looooooooooong winter nights would drive me to drink! ..... more.....
Why I am stuck in this state for now!! However in xx years when my lil girl starts a family. My wife will be close! I better start saving Now!!
Thankfully I was not in position when I moved here in’12. Jets leave to/from the airport daily and both Anchorage and Fairbanks both have rental car companies on site, is what I told everyone that gave me grief for moving up. Funny thing none have come for a visit, somehow I managed without them. I have been back once for a visit…more than they every did!
I split some wood last evening. Wasn't too bad. Today after mowing the yard and clearing grass around the stacks, I was done. Even broke it up. Calling for 96* tomorrow
I really don't wanna come across badly here, but my family is very close knit & gets on very well together. We all work together on a lot of things & live in pretty close proximity. The co operation & adherence to the "family first" principle has been passed down through at least 6 generations that I know of. It would take some serious thought & prayer to move that far away & not be readily available to my aging parents & also my kids & grand kids. As much as I hate the heat, I don't think it's a deal breaker for the few weeks that it's intolerable here. Gotta think more on this.
