    Good morning
Yesterday was perfect beach weather. My youngest Son hooked into a huge fish while fishing the inlet. I told him not to "horse it" and to tighten his drag up a little. Line was still getting pulled, so I took the rod to check the drag ( thought he loosened it) and tightened it up a little more. Gave the rod back to him and the fish just started running. Almost pulled off all of his line before it broke. Afterwards I checked his drag and it was pretty tight, I wasnt able to pull it. One big fish! Think it was a skate. Of course dad's fault he lost it because I didnt let him horse it in.
    Try again later today.
    Enjoy your day.

Good morning y'all. Hope y'all have a TREMENDOUS THURSDAY. We had the new customer pick up almost 1/2 cord load yesterday morning, then we cut 2 yards, was going for the 3rd, but rain got us before we got there. Going back this morning to do it. Sadly, my days off are over...:(:(:(...start back 7PM-7AM tonight.
It was 73° across the board on the weather station this morning. Outside/inside/dew point...
    Share a smile be encouraging...
    GOD LOVES YOU AND ME

Morning All. Woke up to a thick fog layer this morning. Yesterday was foggy all day. Not complaining too loudly as it was cool instead of hot but it was a lot darker than previous days.

Found out yesterday that I had a deer in the garden. I have a very small struggling rose bush that looked like it was going to bloom this year and now it is just a stem. I lost 4 pea plants as well. Could have been worse I guess and lost the whole works. We have visually blocked off what we think is the entrance point so hopefully no more raids on the garden.
Midwinter I went through my garden and cut off all the horsetail stems instead of pulling them. I will let you know what happens over the next week. I think it will take a season of cutting them off to make a difference.

Happy Canada Day today. Celebrations are mostly canceled in our area and parts of the country. Our dark history of dealing with First Nations children has come to the public eye and rightly so. Now we can acknowledge the harm that was done and hopefully move forward to reconciliation and a better future.

Blue Jays game to watch, bookkeeping to do and if it dries out a bit, I will get some gardening in.

    Everyone have a great day.

Good morning all. Gonna have an overcast day. So far only 70 out. Had rain come through yesterday afternoon. Some in the forecast for today. Looking for a high oh 65 tomorrow.
Mowing to be done but yard to wet.
    Have a great day all.
    Stay healthy and stay safe.

Good morning! Yesterday brought lots of rain. Looks much better today and less humid. That won't last long. I mowed a little last night but the lawn was soaked with some standing water so I'll try again tomorrow. Music practice at church tonight and probably get a few groceries. I plan to make several firewood bundles for inventory with the holiday weekend coming up.

That's much appreciated T.Jeff Veal. She was talking more yesterday but still weak, in pain and her memory is spotty. It will probably be a bit of a journey but she is definitely moving in the right direction.

One way to deter deer is to tie a plastic bag, like the ones we get when buying groceries, onto a stake, pole or fence post. Our gardens were surrounded with 5' fence and then a plastic bag tied to the top of each fence post and that kept them out. We would take the bags off in the fall then put up new ones when planting the next spring. Of course that has no effect on the coon population but keeps the deer out.

Thanks for the great idea. I guess all that fluttering of the bags has them spooked.

Electric fence works great too. My son has 4 strands, from 18" up to about 6' around his garden. And we have tons of deer around here.
This group of 5 were across the road from my workplace in town the other morning as I was leaving. There is another plant right behind that little strip of woods 0620210657.jpg

Morning T.Jeff Veal ! You only have to cook dirt for 3 hours and 42 minutes. You sleep, I’ll keep the fish entertained.

Good early morning to you, brother Brandon Scott Getting ready to put the scare on some coppernose and shellcracker? I found something on the woodyard Tuesday that made me think of you. Had a couple of these big boys under a chunk of wood. 0629211513.jpg
