I guess it's what you grow up used to...
I would freeze in y'alls winters...
As I've gotten older, I don't handle the heat as well either.

Honesty in our age has become conspicuous by its absence.

We sometimes are praised in the presence of others but dammed in their absence.

When the devil is absent, he leaves a flirt behind to raise hell for him.

If you accept favors from crooked people, you’ll sell yourself down the river.

If you accept nothing, you have nothing to return.

The greatest things are done by the aid of small ones.

    Actions speak louder than words.

Suit the action to the word.

United we stand, divided we fall.

It’s the intention that makes an action good or bad.

We are remembered by our good actions, not by our good intentions.

Beware of false “knowledge,” it is more dangerous than ignorance. George Bernard Shaw

Sweet are the uses of adversity.

Adversity makes men, prosperity makes monsters.

    Adversity has no friends.

Adversity makes us wise, until the next misfortune comes along.

Be patient in adversity and cautious in prosperity.

You must take the fat with the lean.

    Every path has a puddle.

Advice after mischief is like medicine after death.

A lawyer’s advice is expensive, but it’ll cost you more if you consult yourself.

People give nothing so willingly as advice.
