Interior Douglas Fir. Aside from larch, about as bulletproof a firewood that can be had in the forest around here. No hardwood unless you find a pocket of birch or a friendly orchard being converted into a vineyard. No shortage of good BTU’s to be had, though. The tight-ringed Doug always comes through.

Great firewood and I use a lot of it on the sawmill for outside projects, benches, etc... I did have to patch another front tire on the tractor last Thursday... They can be nasty, but I'm used to dealing with it. The heartwood has nice grain patterns. looks great quartersawn.

SKEETER McCLUSKEY got me thinking when asked what it is I’d like for FD.
Really don’t need or want anything, but since they asked…
Maybe matriculate from repair to modify.

    And it came with stickers!

Cool , one of them crankshaft type sun dials.

I just made one that is 2 foot diameter out of 1/4 inch aluminum plate and used the CNC for all the graduations for race engine work . However it might be a little large for a chainsaw.

    Nice to have for sure.

Yes indeed. Wild Honey Locust. Good firewood, but a lot of work to clean it up and make it capable of being handled.
