Cut some wood Friday. Found a fresh dead Post Oak (White Oak) cut it and loaded it and as I scanned the tree line next to the clear cut I was beside and saw a dead oak with the top blown out. Once I loaded the first I went to the next small road closest to the one I had seen. It looks like it had been standing dead for 2 years. Another white oak. It was a little punky ok the outsides but it was good in the center and the tree was actually pretty dry. I will stack it out in the year ahead of the first tree I cut the same day. It's a lot greener and will need more Dry time. I have gotten behind where I want to be on my wood pile. Life got busy and I got lazy I guess and I am going to try and hilustle more this summer than I have the last few years to get my shed full again.
Nice score there! Was it nice and cool down there? Dont know how you Southern guys do anything in the heat.
Haha, heck no it was 86 or so when I left. Probably 90 when I started I'd guess. I left at dark. You can see how dark the pic loaded is, it wasn't just cause it was in the woods.
