The sun is shining, of course it will be a good day.
The skid steer will make some short work of a sore back.

Only had to sharpen one more time... Which makes 4 for one tank... An all time record for me :(. But the job is done. No more dirty logs for a while I hope :). Here i was worried that i didnt have a junk chain for the Husky 261.... Well now i do LOL :) image.jpg

Is muddy logs worth the hose? I thought of that once, spraying down the logs with the garden hose. Thought twice and just cut. Same boat, wasted a couple sharp chains.

Uurrghhh,,, ,,dirty logs, cleaning the cut path with wire brush or peeling off the bark takes too long. May as well resign to the chain's fate and "just cut it". Have several sharp chains ready.

I think I have been spoiled from getting logs from a tree service that uses a crane. Some of that wood will have never touched the ground. But then on the other hand there is the metal problem with the yard trees.

I have the same issues when it wet out.
Am experimenting with different types of drays to see what works for me.
No level / straight trials where I cut.

RM chain helps a bit with dirty stuff

Ya, wire brush and/or water, especially if you have a power washer. Mark the spots first so you don't have to clean the whole log; just where you intend to cut.
