I think you have a hoarding problem CB! Its okay we'll "help" you with encouragement! Some real nice looking wood there! Stay cool and hoard on!
It was going great until my Husqvarna 450 started to 4 stroke and all of a sudden BANG !! Blew the capped and welded spark arrester area off my modded muffler
That is the best type of score to get. Great quality wood and delivered. Can't do much better than that.
An experienced TIG welder can fix it up Eh ? Weld on a new spark arrestor "hood vent slit thingy" over the gape ?
I’ve been thinking about telling The Sweet One that it’s a total loss. And the only fix is to buy a 572xp.
Wow that is a nice haul of ash. Good for you. So looks like you have a new muff mod. It can be fixed though.
The new hole looks to be about the right size anyway lol. Screw a deflector down over top of it and cut wood
I’ve already got a 3/4” outlet. Is there such a thing as “too open” ? I have the stock muffler, so I’m not dead in the water
There is a point where you’re just making more noise. I didn’t realize you had the pipe also. Welding can harden the area and cause thinner metal to crack. Brazing or silver soldering is probably a better option because of the wider contact area and less heat required to make it stick.
Right on. Could we cap the pipe (maybe with screen) and put a new deflector over the top ? To achieve the desired effect ?
Not sure, I’ve never screened a pipe outlet before. But the 3/4” pipe is enough outlet for a stock 50cc saw. But adding a deflector over the top hole probably won’t hurt anything either. It frees the engine up, but you might lose a little bit of torque if you were dogging in to make it cut
