We just had to make the same decision with our lab Frank a couple weeks ago. The sting still remains tho I know it was time.

I cant come up for words of comfort. Hang in there sourwood family.

Hang on, it’s going to be a very tough day for everyone. I’ve been there before,I’m very sorry you have to go through this very painful situation. You are doing the right thing for your friend, and family member that is what they become so very fast. Always remember the great times you have all had with her, be strong, but, be prepared. Once again, sorry you have to go through this.

Thank you, everyone. We are just back from the vet. Now going through and policing up all the bedding, bowls, toys etc. running the vacuum to get up remaining shed hair.

it is going to be different. It’s a mix of feeling selfish to be the person who selected the day and time that she can’t remain, and knowing it would be more selfish to let the hardship continue. That is the obligation of having an animal in one’s life.

The vet that helped us with Frank asked if we wanted some of his fur to keep. Lol anybody with a lab has enough hair in the house!

Add a golden with the lab. Dog hair is just a part of everyday life. At times we still find some hair from our guy we had to let go last year. Stops me in my tracks when I see it.

I haven't read the previous posts because I honestly don't take it very well. I will say that I have been through it twice and just thinking about it brings a tear, and it's been 12 years since the last.
Our sincere thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
