The camera is deceiving. While there is some Goldilocks wood there is a lot of bigger stuff. The most popular size is 18”-24” in diameter

Making good progress the past week or so. Have two different oak piles going. One is for the smaller splitter and one is for bigger wood and the tw6. One pile is around 80 feet long and the other is 65 feet at the moment.

Very impressive rows. Almost like you have the worlds largest hay rake to make your rows:rofl:  A beautiful thing!

Had a busy week working on firewood. If you saw the thread “Nice ash drop” you’d have seen I had a lot of ash come in. It’s all cut up minus the three big logs. I also got a good deal of splitting done. This current oak pile is at 90’ long while the mixed pile is up to 35’ long. The mixed will grow quickly as all of that ash gets split. I did a rough estimate of wood that is cut and split so far and I would put it at around 130 cords so far. Gonna keep on keeping on and see how much I can get done this year!

Here are some updated pics of the oak pile and the mixed hardwood, which we are still working on all that ash that was dropped off. The ok is slow going as it is monster rounds and plenty of big uglies which are just time suckers. I also posted a pic of some visitors I had this afternoon. Guess they are used to the chainsaw running so often.

Spent about 4 hours this afternoon cutting on some Goldilocks sized oak. Starting a new pile and got about 3 cords cut and piled up. It was a hot and humid one though. I was drenched within 20 minutes. Temp was 90 with a real feel of 101. I ripped through 160 ounces of water while working.

Did the three bears help? Really starting to love wood that size!

Dont know how you do it Joe? I was in the shade and still got soaked and not doing anything firewood related. I was gonna fire a saw up late but showers put a damper on that idea.

It makes a good weight loss plan. My hunger level goes way down when I'm working hard in the heat.

Cut for about two hours in the heat again today. Didn’t have much more time than that but I was feeling the time I put in yesterday with the heat and just wasn’t in the mood too much. I do have plans to get what’s in the highlighted area cut by the end of the month. To provide some scale, the whole area of logs is almost a 100’ by 100’ square.
