Rough crowd in this thread... Not much hockey in this neck of the woods. I used to get pizzed when I was in North Dakota & a hockey game would suddenly cut in & pre-empt the Blue Jays or Twins games on the radio. I figured out real quick that baseball was a second tier sport up there.
Don't bet on the leafs, you're in for a disappointment. We have an infinite number of diehard fans we sell out every ticket every season in the first couple days (or something like that) that they are available and it ends up in plenty of disappointments.
Im still recovering from the Whalers moving to Carolina. Saw them in the cup finals June 2002. I saw the cup skated in game 7 the following year. Devils beat the Ducks to take the cup. Lost interest in the sport a few years later. Been a while since either won the cup. Montreal 1993, Toronto 1967 if memory serves me well. EDIT: didnt read all the replies.
Buffalo finally won.....the 2021 draft lottery 1st pick on July 23. Hopefully they don't screw this up.
Ronnie Franchise as he was known. To add insult to injury the hurricanes signed him the year after they moved. The game i saw in Carolina was game three...the triple overtime one. Ended around two in the morning. Saw two games for the price of one.
He's the GM of the new Seattle Kraken and they pick second this year in the draft, he was a very smart hockey player and should be a very good GM.
The top 32 in this years draft according to this article. IMO Buffalo needs a true second line center with speed and grit who can step in next year, I haven't followed any of the 32 so we'll see what they do. 2021 NHL Draft top 32 prospects include Power, Edvinsson, Clarke
You do! I hoped he kicked the chit out of Shanahan after what BS did to the Whale for the one year he was there. Not well liked after he left.
