My stove is still putting out great from last night's ash uglies. It got down to the upper 30's. I had to move all the plants and flowers in to the garage.

It's already 53° out and sunny, so that's already an improvement from yesterday that I don't think ever broke over 49°.

Mid 40s the last two mornings. The wife and I have been kinda chilled so I lit a fire this morning. Miscellaneous Chunks, nuggets, and some splits that were still by the stove.

    Key word is SHOULD !
I've never had to run the woodstove this late. Usually we are praying for enough rain to keep the fires , forest fires ! at bay

Rainy day and cool. Seems like end of October, not May. Tree of heaven, some uglies in woodstove.

Nice day here, mid 60's & sun after a 39F start. Split wood & cleaned up the log yard a bit. Down to mid 30's tonight & frost advisories north. Cherry & Poplar in the boiler. It can stay like this till winter & I'll be real happy!

We've had a fire all day. Small one . My wife would kick it up once in a while. Snows melted off and the sun peeked out a little. Had a bubble bee get in the house. Poor thing crawled up on one of the dogs while she was laying sleeping. Sorry to say the bee did not live thru the encounter.

After being almost 90 for a few days in a row a good rain system brought in temps in the low 40s.

Threw some scrap pieces from splitting and a couple wood bricks and that did the trick. Nothing pretty looking, but pretty warm.

We too had 33 this morning again. Yes, there is a fire in the stove.

I do fear for the guys who have beans up as they are a tender plant. The corn will do fine though and there appears to be more corn planted this year than most years, no doubt because the price of corn has came up.

Lit a few pieces of what I grabbed from the pile. Oak and maple. Definitely one of the latest fires we’ve had if not the latest ever

37 degrees here. We got about 3 inches of snow today. Burning some spruce and a random few pieces of Hackberry. Hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend!! A66F8DD1-116A-4871-9470-6574B3DD8661.jpeg

We got down to 44ºF at night one night. Dunno if it is/was a record low or not. We also have accumulated 4 inch total of rain so far this weekend. Really throws off Memorial Day Weekend gardening plans being this muddy.
