I had a meeting at 9 this morning. So at 7:30 I went out to shoot my bow. I shot a round and started walking toward my target when I saw something in the field behind my chicken coop. Threw up my binos and it was a coyote. Dropped and ran to the house and got my .223 bolt gun.

Ran back and whacked the first. 3 more got up. 2 stayed in the field. dropped #2. #3 had stopped by #1 but ran at the second shoot. stopped just shy of the brow of the hill and I dropped #3.

Yep, It has been a good day! It has been cool here, so I have had the windows open the last two nights and I have been woken up at 4:30 both nights to howling and yipping. I don't think that will be happening tonight.:D

I've heard them at my place, but haven't ever seen one. Seems all I get around here are woodchucks, raccoons and a disproportionate amount of skunks that want to call under the cement slab of my pole barn home.

I wish I could go wolf hunting here where I'm working. A guy I talked to does some guiding for big game and wolf in the fall. Sure would be nice to do it while I'm already here.
