Exactly what I said to my long lost buddy that I ran into at the Hustler dealer the other day..."what's wrong, your goats go on strike?!" (he actually has goats)

Lol. I'd spend a lot on fencing to keep them in my yard though.;)

The salesperson at the toro dealer mentioned their stihl robo mower. Still 3k though. It is quiet enough to mow at night. Idk. I think the zero turn will make mowing fun enough.

Yeah, that works for a year or two...now I'm just biding my time until the boy is old enough to mow

If I can cut the mow time down a lot, versus what I spend now, then it makes sense.

Oh and I called the dealer. It didn't arrive as of this am, and they don't know what's on the truck that is to deliver today. I told them I'm a Buyer as my profession, and that I'd be crucified if I had a truck delivering today and I didn't know what was in it. Sometime obviously knows what's on each truck, but apparently I wasn't talking to anyone in that position. :loco:

So one more mow at least with the old gt this weekend. I'll make sure to time my mow. Then when I get the ztr, I'll need to time the first few mows as I get used to it.

My brother was just telling me about a guy that was mowing a larger property with a 72" Ventrac, and it still took 7 hrs...then he bought a 72" Hustler and that took it down to 4 hours...after a few months of getting used to it, and learning the best mowing patterns to utilize the ZTR, got the total time down to just over 3 hours!

At my old house I mowed .75 acres with 42" lawn tractor in about 1 hour. When I moved to this house with 2.75 acres I bought a 60" ZTR. Mowing time stayed almost exactly the same....if anything I can do this yard a little quicker, especially late in the season.

Very interesting. That's not a small amount of time saved.

When I bought this place it took me about 2 hours to mow it with a 48" Cub Cadet tractor...since then I have planted a TON of trees...because of all the extra "obstacles" now, my mow time is back to about 2 hours now using the ZTR mower.

Ya know.....they make herbicides that kill grass. One application a year and you are set. Just think of all the time you will save. :D

My old man pays for trugreen to fertilize his lawn and uses a sprinkler system. I asked him one time how much he pays to make more work for himself he did not answer.

I'll argue for used. Bought this for half what a new one cost 5 years ago with 850 hours. I expect it to easily last to 2500 or 3000. 2008, one owner, non-commercial use. Spent $300 on casters and a new grille. Mows like a champion. It is worth today what I paid for it 5 years ago.

Yup, that's why my policy is: if its green, mow it and call it "yard"

I wouldn't argue against you on that...I bought one new, won't again...too many great deals to be had out there on used ones...especially if you can sit n wait for the right one...and since Horkn still has the ole Gravely tractor... ;)

They said they have the 54" Titan in stock and $4899 is the cash price...they will normally deal a bit more, but you know, the whole supply and demand thing right now...

Here's one of the other big dealers in Milwaukee area.
4899 for this at my dealer like 4 miles away. Thus dealer wants much more

It's right on par with the very rural hustler dealer that wasted 300 more for the same raptor xd as the bigger dealer that I'll mow than likely be getting mine from.

    That's true.

I'm still looking since I haven't committed to anything yet. If I find a good deal I'll probably jump on it.

Interesting. But about right with supply and demand. Like I said, you can't even get that model from toro right now. It's probably due to this being more of a value line, and Toro would be stupid to not put they're resources into the more expensive ones with myride or just simply other higher priced models.

I think I see a long distance Bromance going on here!! I did give up my spot in the LuvShack this year, seemed like I should let big Dave and Tom have some alone time!
