I went that route and what I get are cages for ground units or Amazon and homedepot who say not available. After searching for 45 minutes I thought I'd pose the question here. Thanks for your response.
I haven't looked up what you are asking about, but my first thought was one of the "tote" cages people are using for firewood. In my mind you are trying to keep someone from stealing your window air conditioner or from removing it and entering your house. One of those totes secured to the house would work without loss of air.
Ya you may keep the window from going up but a chump can still push the air conditioner inward and come into your house.
Yeah they make window AC fairly easy for homeowners to install, which makes them vulnerable to theft and as a means to gain entry into a house, unfortunately. I have a window unit and actually used a few small screws to help hold it in but I imagine a lot of people don't bother with the (small) screws especially with plastic rather than wood windows and the unit is just perched there on the window. It wouldn't take much to push the AC unit up, break the thin plastic flanges and then let the unit fall to the ground / hang by its electrical cord. Easy way in.
