We were supposed to go to a picnic today that ended up getting cancelled. I decided to move a PU full of rounds that have been at a score for over a month while she planted flowers here. I turn the corner to his house and spot this in the neighbors yard across the street. Stopped after and knocked on the door. Elderly gentleman answers and says it happened last night. No wind or storms. Give him a price to which he says go ahead. Came back later and bucked it all up. I was going to cut at my "distracted at work" score anyhow. Neighbor taking wood as i didnt want it. Hour and a half with the 194T and 261 seeing action. Dump run with brush tomorrow plus clean up the trunk from step ladder, then rake. Funny how things work out! NOTE: the wood in my PU is sugar maple i was bringing to storage but B-day party at my friends so i couldnt get in.
Feeling fine! Wasnt that much and i have a boatload from Fridays score ("work distraction") plus another score in the works (no thread yet) with a lot more, PLUS another big tree at another score ive been working. All are primo straight grained too.
I try to get straight grain as much as possible, but sometimes I got to take some extra work wood, so my storage site doesn’t get out of control and draw unwanted attention.
Seems that way doesnt it? I like these little jobs. Id rather do them than sell firewood. How are Robbie's sales going?
They slowed down after indoor burning season ended but now that more people are burning outdoors, he's selling a fair amount of pine.
