This is going to take a little while to clean up.

It was a tough decision to take the nice big tree out. But it’s roots were clogging up the leach field and it was blocking our view. So it is time for a fix of the leach field and time for the tree to go and will be used to heat the house eventually.

    Ugh. Plumbing. Drain plumbing even.

So, just like everything else in this house, the drain plumbing and septic system were designed by a fool. Instead of doing a 100% gravity system, they decided to drain a bathroom into the slab, then out to a septic tank 6' below grade, then into a lift tank, then pump to the finger system. They only reason they didn't go gravity is because the center support beam of the house in in the way. Not a big deal, one post, one hole, and you're free and clear to the basement wall.

I'm going to do the work they were too lazy to do and do it the right way. Sister in a new column, punch a hole through the beam, go out the wall, and tie in with the main line, and add in a cleanout (there were exactly zero cleanouts in the entire drain system too). In the future, if I ever have to do a septic repair or replace I'll have a much more traditional system to deal with.

This is one of the 100 things I'm trying to do now, so that when we do go down a bathroom it isn't down for any longer than it has to be. I already have the wiring home run pulled from the breaker panel. Going to have the bathroom vanities built and ready to set in place. Drain plumbing will be 75% ready to go. Drywall will stlll take forever, but everything else should go together pretty quick.

Spent Sunday attaching my nine foot mower to the tractor. Mowed a little, then as I came to some fence that needed taken down, I punched into it with the bucket. I managed to back away from the fence line and pull about 80 years of fence and rotted posts. Most of my calf weaning pasture is now ready for new fence.

    Cotton picking hot, though.

Now I’ve got to keep it from falling back in the hole so I can dig dirt off bottom of it and lighten the load for removal!

I gave my house a real good cleaning over the long weekend. Guess I should have taken a few before pics but suffice it to say I could barely walk through. Between losing the sofa and chair, a desk that was about coming apart anyway, as well as a fiberglass double sided restaurant bench (which dulled my jigsaw blade to the smoothest I've ever seen one, cutting it in 2 to fit in the car) and some other assorted junk, a lot of space is opened up. Not to mention just tidying, and using some of, some material stashes that had fallen into disarray. I'm probably in for another 2 trips to the dump next weekend, then I should be done for a while. House has to stay like this now.

hoping to soon begin finish work on the bedroom, I have some flooring dad gave me.

Gasifier it is a Land Pride rotary with dual gear boxes. After playing with six foot units, this thing cuts down mowing time significantly.

bought it nearly new from a guy who bought it with a John Deere he wanted. He already had a batwing, so selling this and recovering some money made us both happy.

the Kubota dealer in the next county is also a Land Pride dealer so that is handy

Kubota owns land pride. Almost all implements are made by land pride except some hay equipment. You’ll never see land pride at a Deere dealer after kubota purchased them. All kubota dealer carry the line.
